Barbaracle (Japanese: ガメノデス Gamenodes) is a dual-type Rock/Water Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It evolves from Binacle starting at level 39. Barbaracle is a bipedal Pokémon with a unique design, featuring a body consisting of two gray rocks connected by an orange, segmented waist. It has four orange arms, each with a brown hand featuring a single eye in the center of the palm. Its head is brown and resembles a left fist with clawed fingers. Each limb of Barbaracle has an independently functioning brain, allowing it to think and move separately, though they usually follow the orders of the head. This feature is believed to be a reference to alien hand syndrome. The design of Barbaracle is inspired by the goose barnacle, alien hand syndrome, and the multi-limbed Ashura from Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The English name, Barbaracle, is a combination of 'barbaric' and 'barnacle,' while its Japanese name, Gamenodes, may derive from the Japanese term for goose barnacle (kame-no-te) and the word 'death.' It's known for its ability to attack with the combined power of seven individuals.
