Avalugg

Avalugg (Japanese: クレベース Kurebase) is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It evolves from Bergmite. Avalugg resembles a large ice tortoise with a flat back, sometimes carrying multiple Bergmite on its back, giving it the appearance of an ice aircraft carrier. Its body is as hard as steel, capable of crushing anything in its path. The cracks on its body deepen during the day and return to normal at night. It can be found in high latitudes, often floating with icebergs while carrying Bergmite on its back. In the Hisui region, Avalugg has an Ice/Rock dual-type regional form, with a body made of rock and covered by solid ice on its head and back, possessing tough icy plates on its lower jaw which can easily break through rocks and snow drifts. Avalugg has three abilities: Own Tempo, Ice Body, and Sturdy. Own Tempo prevents confusion, Ice Body gradually heals the Pokémon in hail, and Sturdy ensures the Pokémon survives a lethal attack with 1 HP. Avalugg made its anime debut in 'All Hail the Ice Battlefield!' owned by Gym Leader Wulfric, where it demonstrated great strength against Ash's Pokémon.
