Primarina (Japanese: アシレーヌ Ashirene) is a dual-type Water/Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It is the final evolution of Popplio. Primarina resembles a combination of a sea lion and a mermaid, with a white body and a blue, fish-like tail. It has a tiara-like structure on its head adorned with pearls and pink starfish. Primarina uses water balloons and its voice as its primary weapons, controlling the water balloons with the melodies it sings. Often called a songstress, Primarina’s performances under the moonlight are considered mesmerizing. The melodies it sings are passed down through generations, leading to unique variations among different colonies. This Pokémon sees every battle as a stage, using its graceful dance and water balloons to beguile opponents. However, Primarina's throat is sensitive, requiring diligent care from trainers. Dry conditions and consecutive battles can cause vocal problems. Primarina is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Sparkling Aria by leveling up, and it is the only Pokémon that can use the Z-Move Oceanic Operetta. It also has the ability Liquid Voice.
