Salandit, known as Yatoumori in Japanese, is a dual-type Poison/Fire Pokémon introduced in Generation VII of the Pokémon series, debuting in Pokémon Sun and Moon. It resembles a lizard or salamander, with a dark gray body, black head and feet, and red-orange stripes along its back and tail. Salandit can emit toxic gas and flames from its tail by burning its bodily fluids. This gas has a sweet odor that can cause dizziness and attracts Bug-type Pokémon as prey. Female Salandit can also release special pheromones that attract male creatures, including humans, and can control those who inhale these pheromones. Male Salandit, due to offering food to females, are often malnourished, and thus only female Salandit evolve into Salazzle at level 33. Salandit is characterized by its cunning and devious nature. Despite not being a powerful Pokémon, it uses confusion tactics to gain an advantage in battles. They are typically found in volcanic or dry, rocky environments. In the games, Salandit and its evolution, Salazzle, are the only Pokémon known to possess the Corrosion ability.
