Pyukumuku, known as Namakobushi in Japanese, is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It has an ovoid, black body with two small pink eyes and a white, star-shaped or Daimonji-shaped mouth. Two lines of three pink spikes run down each side of its back, with the middle spikes being longer. It has a fluffy white tail. Pyukumuku dislikes being touched on its spikes and mouth, and it will retaliate by ejecting fist-like internal organs if stepped on. It tends to stay in one spot, returning even if moved, and will remain there until it starves once it has consumed all the food in its area. Its body is covered in a viscous fluid that keeps it moist for a week on land and can be used as a moisturizer. Due to its unappealing appearance and lifestyle, tourists often step on Pyukumuku, leading to part-time jobs throwing it back into the sea. However, people in Alola have gotten used to throwing Pyukumuku back to the sea where it can find food. Pyukumuku is capable of spitting its organs out through its mouth, which can take various shapes, like a fist. It also has the unique ability “Innards Out,” where it inflicts damage equal to its remaining HP on the attacker when knocked out.
