Turtonator (Japanese: バクガメス Bakugames) is a dual-type Fire/Dragon Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It is a bipedal, turtle-like Pokémon with a spiny shell. Its shell is explosive, due to its diet of volcanic sulfur. When something strikes its shell, sparks ignite an explosion. Turtonator often camouflages itself as a rock in volcanic areas, waiting for prey. It will strike its own shell with its tail to trigger an explosion. The droppings of Turtonator are also highly explosive. Turtonator does not evolve and is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Shell Trap. In the anime, one of the main characters, Kiawe, owns a Turtonator.
