Tapu Koko, known as Kapu-Kokeko in Japanese, is a dual-type Electric/Fairy Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VII of the Pokémon series. It serves as the guardian deity of Melemele Island in the Alola region. Tapu Koko resembles a rooster, with a primarily black and orange body, adorned with yellow rings on its shoulders and markings on its face. It possesses a large, orange, feather-like crest that can close to form a mask that covers its upper body. Tapu Koko is characterized by its curious and combative nature, and though it is known as a guardian deity, it doesn't always assist humans unless it finds them interesting, often engaging in battles with people or Pokémon. It can manipulate electricity and store energy within the shell-like structures on its arms. Along with the other island guardians, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini, Tapu Koko is a central figure in the Alola region. It features prominently in the Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon anime, with notable interactions with the protagonist Ash. Tapu Koko is also unique for its exclusive move Nature's Madness and the Z-Move Guardian of Alola.
