Grookey (Japanese: サルノリ, Sarunori) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. It is one of the three first partner Pokémon of the Galar region, alongside Scorbunny and Sobble. Grookey resembles a small monkey with a green body, a brown tail and ears, orange hands and feet, and an orange snout. It has a lime green mask-like pattern around its eyes and two leaf-shaped tufts on its head that hold a stick. This stick is said to have been a branch from the forest where Grookey lived, and it has special power due to absorbing Grookey's energy. Grookey is known for being mischievous, curious, and likes to drum the stick rhythmically. When Grookey drums, it can revitalize plants. Its green fur can also create energy from sunlight through photosynthesis. Grookey evolves into Thwackey starting at level 16, which then evolves into Rillaboom at level 35.
