Barraskewda, known as Kamasujoo in Japanese, is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It evolves from Arrokuda starting at level 28. Barraskewda is a fish-like Pokémon with a long, slender, sandy-brown body. It features a fishbone-like pattern on its sides, a brown layer covering its back, a pointed spear-like head, and deep triangular eye sockets. Its jaw resembles a French moustache, with prominent canine teeth. Barraskewda is renowned for its high speed and powerful attacks. It propels itself by spinning its tail fins, reaching speeds over 100 knots, and then rams into its prey with its sharp jaws. It is known to leap out of the water to catch Wingull near the surface and compete with other Pokémon like Finizen for food. Its flesh is surprisingly tasty. The design of Barraskewda is inspired by the barracuda, possibly also referencing spears, arrows, and spearfishing. Its tail resembles a propeller or rudder, reminiscent of high-speed ships. Additionally, it may draw inspiration from the Fairey Barracuda, a British torpedo bomber.
