Sizzlipede, known as ヤクデ (Yakude) in Japanese, is a dual-type Fire/Bug Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. It resembles a red centipede with a long, flat body. Its thorax and head are primarily red-orange with dark brown sections and yellow rings on its body. It has two fiery whiskers on its face and short, stubby legs for movement. Sizzlipede wraps its heated body around prey, using flammable gas stored within to generate heat and cook them. It devours the prey entirely. Sizzlipede is related to Skorupi, shares a common ancestor, and often fights with Venipede. It evolves into Centiskorch at level 28.
Sizzlipede may be based on radiators and centipedes, particularly the bioluminescent fire centipede. It may also be inspired by luminous millipedes. Its Japanese name, Yakude, likely combines "yaku" (to burn) with "yasude" (millipede) or "mukade" (centipede).
