Polteageist (Japanese: ポットデス, Pottodesu) is a Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. It evolves from Sinistea when exposed to either a Cracked Pot or a Chipped Pot, depending on Sinistea's form. Polteageist resembles a purple ghost residing within a teapot, featuring swirling yellow eyes. Its body is made of black tea, which is said to have a distinct flavor, but can cause severe chills and indigestion if consumed in excess. It is known to inhabit hotels and restaurants, disguising itself among tableware and multiplying by infusing its power into leftover tea. Polteageist has two forms: Phony Form and Antique Form, the latter of which has an authenticity stamp on the bottom of its teapot. It is the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Teatime. Although ecologically similar to Sinistcha, they are separate species. Polteageist has made appearances in the anime, manga, and video games, and enjoys a dedicated fanbase.
