Obstagoon (Japanese: タチフサグマ) is a dual-type Dark/Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, specifically in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It is the evolved form of Galarian Linoone. Obstagoon resembles a bipedal badger with a mostly black and white fur coat, gray tufts on its forearms and ankles, and a vest-like patch of gray fur around its chest and back. It is also characterized by its long tongue that often lolls out. Obstagoon’s evolution is attributed to the harsh conditions and intense competition faced by Galarian Linoone in the Galar region, honing their survival instincts. While aggressive, it prefers to taunt opponents into attacking first. When attacked, Obstagoon uses its signature move ‘Obstruct’ by crossing its arms and letting out a loud yell to defend and counter. Its design is potentially inspired by European badgers, heavy metal bands, and bodyguard figures. In Pokémon GO, Obstagoon is obtained by evolving Galarian Linoone and has unique moves that are useful in battles.
