Snom, known in Japanese as Yukihami, is an Ice/Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII of the Pokémon series. It resembles a small, icy caterpillar with a white body, transparent blue spikes along its back, and two round mandibles on its face. Its eyes are located on the sides of its body and appear as small black dots. It also has four tiny feet without visible legs. When Snom sleeps, it disguises itself as an icicle by wrapping its body with icy threads while anchored to a tree branch. Snom primarily feeds on snow accumulated on the ground, and the more it eats, the larger and more impressive the spikes on its back become. Snom evolves into Frosmoth when leveled up with maximum friendship at night. Snom is also one of the few Pokémon that can have the ability 'Ice Scales'. Snom's design may be inspired by jewel caterpillar larvae, as well as arctic moth larvae, particularly those that can withstand extremely cold temperatures. The name 'Snom' is a combination of 'snow', 'worm', and 'nom' (slang for eating), while the Japanese name 'Yukihami' combines 'yuki' (snow) and 'hami' (eating).
