Duraludon (Japanese: ジュラルドン) is a dual-type Steel/Dragon Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. Its body is made of strong but surprisingly light metal, which allows it to move quickly, but it is prone to rust. Duraludon lives in mountainous areas, avoids rain, and frequently clashes with Tyranitar, a Pokémon with a shared habitat. It can Gigantamax into Gigantamax Duraludon, which resembles a skyscraper with glowing parts. In Generation IX, Duraludon evolves into Archaludon when exposed to a Metal Alloy. Duraludon's design may be inspired by Mechagodzilla and The Shard, a skyscraper in the UK. Duraludon uses Steel and Dragon-type attacks, and can fire energy blasts from its mouth. It is a bipedal reptilian Pokémon resembling a lighter. Its rivalry with Tyranitar may reference the rivalry between Mechagodzilla and Godzilla in the Godzilla films. Its Gigantamax form resembles a towering skyscraper, and its durable cells allow it to withstand earthquakes. Duraludon consumes food by grinding rocks, and its body has a polished metal texture, but is easily corroded.
