Kubfu (Japanese: ダクマ Dakuma) is a Fighting-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, specifically in The Isle of Armor expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield. It resembles a small bear cub with a dark gray body, white fur on its head and chest, and two black downturned eyebrows above its eyes. It has white ribbon-like hairs behind its head that it pulls to increase its fighting spirit and power. Kubfu is a diligent Pokémon, striving to train its body and mind, and using defeats as motivation to grow stronger. It has a unique organ in its lower abdomen that produces "fighting energy" through special breathing techniques and focus. Wild Kubfu live in mountainous areas far from the Galar region, though they were once native there. Historical records suggest Kubfu traveled with people to uncharted lands for trade and exploration. Kubfu evolves into Urshifu, with the form depending on the Tower of Two Fists it trained at; evolving into Single Strike Style at the Tower of Darkness, or Rapid Strike Style at the Tower of Waters. Kubfu's name is a portmanteau of "cub" and "kung fu."
