Tarountula is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX of the Pokémon series. It resembles a greenish-yellow arachnid with its body wrapped in a ball of white threads. Tarountula has eight slender legs with dark green tips, white markings on its face, and six eyes, with only the front two having irises, which often give it a drowsy appearance. Its mouth is made of four small flaps and is hidden on the underside of its head. The threads that cover its body are incredibly strong and elastic, capable of deflecting attacks from its natural enemy, Scyther. Tarountula is often found hanging upside down from trees while resting or preparing to ambush prey. It evolves into Spidops at level 15. The name Tarountula is a combination of "tarantula" and "round."
