Nymble

Nymble, known as Mamebatta in Japanese, is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It resembles a grasshopper, but unlike most grasshoppers, Nymble cannot fly. This may suggest its design is based on a meadow grasshopper or a grasshopper in its nymph stage. It has a gray body with dark gray markings on its face, back, and legs, as well as yellow compound eyes. Nymble's most notable feature is its third pair of large legs that it usually keeps folded up, resembling pocket knives. When threatened, it can jump over 10 meters high using its powerful legs. Nymble evolves into Lokix at level 24. In the games, Nymble can be found in the West Province and South Province of the Paldea region. In Pokémon GO, Nymble was first released on September 10, 2023. Its English name, “Nymble,” is likely a portmanteau of “nymph” and “nimble,” while its Japanese name “Mamebatta” combines “mame” (small) and “batta” (grasshopper).
