Smoliv (Japanese: ミニーブ Minive) is a dual-type Grass/Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It resembles a small, olive-colored Pokémon with a green, ovoid body and a fruit resembling an olive on its head, surrounded by leaves. Smoliv stores oil, derived from nutrients gathered through photosynthesis, in the olive on its head. The oil has a bitter taste and is not suitable for consumption. When startled or attacked, Smoliv will shoot this oil to slow its opponent down, allowing it to escape. It prefers dry and sunny climates and often sunbathes. Smoliv evolves into Dolliv starting at level 25, and then into Arboliva starting at level 35. The name "Smoliv" is likely a combination of “small” or “smol” and “olive,” while the Japanese name “Minibu” may originate from “mini” and “olive.”
