Tadbulb (Japanese: ズピカ, Zupika) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX of the Pokémon series. This small amphibian Pokémon is characterized by its spherical yellow head, which makes up the majority of its body. Its head features two white spots at the top and has the ability to emit light. Tadbulb generates electricity by shaking its tail, which it also uses to float in the air. In stormy weather, it is known to float at higher altitudes. They are commonly found inhabiting wetlands and riverbanks. Tadbulb evolves into Bellibolt when exposed to a Thunder Stone. Its design appears to be inspired by tadpoles and light bulbs, with its Japanese name “Zupika” possibly deriving from “head (zu)” and the onomatopoeia for sparkling, “pikapika”. Tadbulb has been featured in the Pokémon anime, used by trainers and gym leaders, showcasing its capabilities in battle and as a source of illumination.
In Pokémon games, Tadbulb holds the Pokédex number #938 and is part of the Paldea region. It can learn a variety of Electric-type moves and can use its typing to its advantage in battles, taking into account its resistances and weaknesses. Tadbulb’s traits and abilities are important to its battle strategy, and its distinct appearance and evolution make it a popular Pokémon among fans.
