Kilowattrel (Japanese: タイカイデン Taikaiden) is a dual-type Electric/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It evolves from Wattrel. Kilowattrel resembles a large seabird with predominantly black plumage, grayish-dark blue underparts, and yellow markings on its wings, near its eyes, and on its neck, which includes a throat sac that glows when charged with electricity. Kilowattrel can fly over 430 miles a day by riding the wind but is not a strong swimmer due to a lack of oil in its feathers. The name 'Kilowattrel' is a combination of 'kilowatt' and 'petrel', a type of seabird. The Japanese name, 'Taikaiden,' may be a combination of terms meaning 'ocean,' 'storm petrel,' and 'thunder and lightning.' In the anime, a notable Kilowattrel is owned by Roy, who evolved it from his Wattrel, showcasing its strength in flight and electric attacks in battles. Kilowattrel is a distinctive Pokémon, notable for its design and unique abilities.
