Shroodle, known in Japanese as Shirushrew (シルシュルー), is a dual-type Poison/Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It resembles a small shrew, with a dark gray body and a very small tail. Its head is black, topped with a tuft of white fur, and it has small black semicircular ears. Shroodle has a white underbelly with dark gray paw pads on its feet. It possesses a long snout with two visible teeth, and large eyes that are gradient from green to yellow with small black pupils. Shroodle is generally mellow, but if angered, it will bite with its venomous teeth, causing paralysis. It marks its territory with a foul-smelling poisonous liquid. Shroodle evolves into Grafaiai starting at level 28. It is likely based on the Iberian shrew or Pyrenean desman, shrew species found in the Iberian peninsula. Its venomous bite may be inspired by the fact that certain shrew species are among the few venomous mammals. The shape of Shroodle's snout, combined with its evolution into a Pokémon based on an aye-aye, suggests a possible inspiration from treeshrews. The name Shroodle is likely a combination of 'shrew,' 'shrewd,' and 'doodle.'
