Klawf (Japanese: ガケガニ, Gakegani) is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX of the Pokémon franchise. It resembles an orange crab with a rugged, stony shell on its back, a cream-colored underside, and pink cheeks. Klawf's eyes are on black stalks protruding from its shell, and it has eight legs, including two claws and six walking legs with grayish bristles at the joints. This Pokémon is known to dwell on sheer cliffs, hanging upside down to ambush prey from above. Its protruding eyes can rotate to eliminate blind spots. Klawf possesses strong, dexterous claws, using one to grip opponents and the other to break through defenses. In the Paldea region, Klawf's broken claws are used in cooking. Klawf does not evolve and is the only known Pokémon with the Anger Shell ability. A giant Klawf, known as the Stony Cliff Titan, appears as one of the Titan Pokémon in the game. Klawf’s design may be based on crabs with hair-like bristles such as the horsehair crab, velvet crab, or Chinese mitten crab, and also potentially rock climbing.
