Wiglett (Japanese: ウミディグダ) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It closely resembles Diglett, with a white body, two small black eyes, and a large red nose. Wiglett typically exposes only its head and part of its body above the ground, while the majority of its body remains buried. It inhabits beaches and seas, burrowing into the sand to feed. Wiglett possesses an exceptional sense of smell, capable of detecting scents from over 20 meters away, and is quite timid and cautious, hiding in the sand when it senses other Pokémon nearby. Despite its resemblance to Diglett, it is a separate species, with their similarities attributed to convergent evolution due to their similar burrowing behaviors. Wiglett evolves into Wugtrio at level 26. Wiglett made its debut in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games and was released in Pokémon GO on April 22, 2024, during the Rediscover Kanto event.
