Houndstone, known as Hakadog in Japanese, is a Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It is a Pokémon reborn from a lovingly mourned deceased Pokémon. Houndstone resembles a skeletal canine covered in long white fur, with a hump on its back and a tombstone-like protuberance on its head. Despite its eerie appearance, it is known as the most loyal of all dog Pokémon and spends most of its time sleeping in graveyards. It is said that Houndstone dislikes having the protuberance on its head touched. It evolves from Greavard at level 30 during the night. Houndstone is the only Pokémon known to learn the move Last Respects by leveling up. Its design may be based on long-haired dog breeds like the Iberian Catalan Sheepdog, as well as graveyard and undead imagery. It has appeared in the anime series Pokémon: Paldean Winds and the Pokémon anime series.
