Iron Moth, known as テツノドクガ (Tetsunodokuga) in Japanese, is a dual Fire/Poison-type Paradox Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It is considered a future relative of Volcarona, sharing a similar appearance but with a robotic and futuristic design. Iron Moth's body is predominantly black with white armor on its thorax, red compound eyes, and red antennae. It has six orange diamond-shaped wings with black triangular markings that float independently from its body. In game lore, Iron Moth is described as a mysterious flying object that occasionally descends from the sky to attack humans, leading some to believe it may be an alien craft observing humanity. Iron Moth does not evolve and is a Paradox Pokémon. Its English name, Iron Moth, is a direct translation of its Japanese name, Tetsunodokuga, meaning 'iron moth.' Iron Moth also appears in the Pokémon Trading Card Game with various card versions.
