Poltchageist (Japanese: チャデス, Chadesu) is a dual-type Grass/Ghost Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It resides in a tea caddy and is made of matcha powder, holding a tea scoop. It draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Poltchageist has two forms, Counterfeit and Artisan, distinguished by a stamp on the caddy’s base. While resembling Sinistea, they are not biologically related. Poltchageist can sap the life force of those who touch or consume its matcha powder. Legend says it was formed from the regrets of a tea master who was obsessed with the ceremony but unable to perfect it. It is active at night, dwells in old buildings, and repairs broken items with its powder. The Ability Hospitality is unique to Poltchageist and its evolution. It evolves into Sinistcha using either an Unremarkable Teacup or a Masterpiece Teacup, depending on its form.
