Munkidori (Japanese: マシマシラ Mashimashira) is a dual-type Poison/Psychic Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It debuted in the first part of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, titled "The Teal Mask." Munkidori is a member of the "Loyal Three," alongside Okidogi and Fezandipiti. According to Kitakami legend, Munkidori was once believed to be one of three heroic Pokémon who sacrificed themselves to protect their village from an evil ogre. However, in reality, it is a mischievous and greedy thief controlled by Pecharunt. Munkidori was once a clumsy and dim-witted Pokémon, but the chain around its head stimulated its brain, causing its Psychic powers to awaken. It enjoys toying with its enemies from a safe distance, using its psychic abilities to induce dizziness. Munkidori appears as a blue simian Pokémon with long black fur covering most of its body, with yellow eyes and black stripes on its face. It wears a magenta chain around its head and its feet resemble sandals. Munkidori is characterized as lazy, rude, and apathetic, often bullying Ogerpon. Munkidori is not known to evolve. It can be found in the Kitakami region of the game. Munkidori is believed to be based on Japanese macaques and the Satori yokai, a mind-reading monkey.
