Ogerpon

Ogerpon, known in Japanese as オーガポン, is a Grass-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IX of the Pokémon series, specifically in the DLC “The Teal Mask” for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Also referred to as the Mask Pokémon, Ogerpon has a primarily green appearance, wearing leaf-like clothing and a mask. A key feature of Ogerpon is its four forms, each tied to a different mask: Teal Mask, Wellspring Mask, Hearthflame Mask, and Cornerstone Mask. These masks not only alter its appearance but also change its typing, along with unique Terastallized states. The Teal Mask form is pure Grass-type, while the others gain Water, Fire, or Rock as secondary types, respectively. Ogerpon is playful and curious, and originally arrived in Kitakami with a human companion, before facing rejection and bullying. In “The Teal Mask” storyline, players encounter Ogerpon and help it recover its stolen masks, eventually becoming its Trainer. Ogerpon battles using vines and kicks, harnessing the energy of its mask to enhance its attacks. It is believed to draw inspiration from Japanese Oni culture, often representing a mischievous or fearsome ogre.
