Kris/Lyra

Kris and Lyra are both female protagonists in the Pokémon series. Kris debuted as the playable character in Pokémon Crystal, being the first female protagonist in the main series games. She has a sporty appearance, with short, spiky hair tied in low bunches and a red, white, and yellow athletic outfit. In the game, Kris starts her journey as a Pokémon Trainer after receiving a mission from Professor Elm. She faces her rival, Silver, and ultimately challenges the Pokémon League. Lyra replaced Kris as the female protagonist in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. She is also from New Bark Town and connected with Professor Elm. Lyra has a slightly different appearance, wearing pink and known for her friendly nature. In the game's storyline, Lyra competes with Silver and gradually teaches him to respect Pokémon. She eventually becomes the Pokémon League Champion and continues her adventure in the Kanto region. While they are protagonists in different games, both represent the rise of female characters in the Pokémon series, undergoing similar journeys, facing the same rival, and challenging the same league.
