Silver

Silver is a significant character in the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Gold and Silver. He serves as the rival to the main character, a tall, slender young man with crimson red hair, pale skin, and dark eyes. He is typically seen wearing a high-collared navy coat with red trim, dark violet pants, a black belt, and navy shoes with red trim that match his coat. Silver's appearance remains consistent in Gold and Silver, but in HeartGold and SoulSilver, his hair is slightly shorter and a more vibrant red, while his eyes appear gray, although they are red in the opening sequence. Silver is characterized as an arrogant, cruel, and callous character who initially treats Pokémon poorly, seeing them as fighting machines. He steals a starter Pokémon from the lab and is unfriendly to the player character. However, he evolves throughout the story, particularly after being defeated by Lance of the Elite Four, and begins to reflect on his treatment of Pokémon, acknowledging the importance of love and trust. Silver is the son of Team Rocket boss Giovanni, but he appears to despise Team Rocket and vows to become stronger on his own after his father leaves him. His story is further developed in HeartGold and SoulSilver, portraying his inner struggles and growth.
