Brendan

Brendan, known as Yuuki in Japanese, is a significant character in the Pokémon series. He first appeared in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, as well as their remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. In the games, Brendan can be either the male protagonist chosen by the player or a rival, depending on the player's gender selection. If the player chooses to play as the female protagonist, May, Brendan becomes a friend and rival, assisting his father, Professor Birch, in completing the Pokédex. Brendan is portrayed as experienced and knowledgeable, owing to his upbringing as the son of a Pokémon professor. In the anime, Brendan has made cameo appearances, but unlike the games, he has no interaction with May. In Pokémon Masters EX, Brendan is paired with Treecko and its evolutions, including Sceptile with Mega Evolution capabilities. He is also paired with Latios, which can also Mega Evolve. He has been a playable character since the game's release and has appeared in various story events.
