Lucas

Lucas (Japanese: コウキ, Kouki) is the male player character in the Pokémon series games Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, and their remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. His female counterpart is Dawn. In the games, Lucas lives in Twinleaf Town and embarks on a journey alongside his rival Barry. After seeing a TV program about a red Gyarados, Lucas and Barry head to Lake Verity, where they get caught in a wild Pokémon battle and receive their starter Pokémon from Professor Rowan. He goes on to collect the eight Gym Badges of Sinnoh, defeat Team Galactic, and conquer the Pokémon League. As a non-playable character, he acts as Professor Rowan's assistant and has a different starter Pokémon depending on the player's choice. Lucas also appears in other spin-offs such as Pokémon Masters EX and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with various costume designs.
