Calem

Calem, known as カルム in Japanese, is a significant character in the Pokémon series, particularly in Pokémon X and Y. He serves as either the male player character or the rival when playing as the female protagonist. Calem is a young trainer typically depicted with short black hair, gray eyes, and a red hat and black sunglasses. In the game, he resides in Vaniville Town in the Kalos region, where he becomes friends with the protagonist, Serena, Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna. As a rival, he selects the starter Pokémon with a type advantage over the player's choice. Calem exhibits a mature personality and a strong sense of justice, assisting the player against Team Flare on several occasions. His parents are also renowned Pokémon trainers, establishing him as one of the group's strongest trainers. Calem undergoes some trials throughout the story, but he ultimately grows into a more formidable and reliable trainer. In Pokémon Masters EX, Calem has multiple appearances with different outfits and partner Pokémon, further developing his character.
