Hau

Hau (Japanese: ハウ) is a significant character in the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Sun and Moon. He is the grandson of Hala, the island kahuna of Melemele Island, and a major rival and friend to the player character in the Alola region. Hau is a cheerful, Pokémon-loving young boy with a particular fondness for malasadas, a local Alolan treat, and is always on the lookout for malasada shops. He enjoys Pokémon battles and sees them as fun, but throughout his adventure, he becomes more serious about training. Hau is depicted as a dark-skinned boy with dark green hair, tied into a short ponytail with an orange band. He typically wears a black t-shirt, yellow board shorts with orange and white flower patterns, along with orange shoes and a backpack. Hau is often smiling, showcasing his cheerful personality. In the Pokémon anime series, Hau also appears as a prominent character, interacting with Ash. He actively participates in the Alola Pokémon League, demonstrating his growth and strength. Hau's goal is to become stronger and protect those he loves, including both people and Pokémon.
