Sonia

Sonia (ソニア) is a character in the Pokémon series of games and anime. She is initially Professor Magnolia's granddaughter and assistant, but later succeeds her as the Pokémon Professor of the Galar region. Sonia is also a childhood friend and rival of the protagonist. She is a slender young woman with fair skin, ginger hair in a large ponytail, and turquoise eyes. She typically wears a tan-colored trench coat over a teal blouse and light blue skinny jeans. Sonia also sports accessories like a watch, orange sunglasses, a black purse with a white heart, and white heart-shaped hair decorations. After becoming a professor, she wears a white lab coat given to her by her grandmother, revealing her midriff. Sonia is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, though sometimes exasperated by Leon's antics. She used to be a Pokémon Trainer and rival to Leon, but eventually gave up training to explore her own path. In 'Pokémon Journeys,' Sonia appears as an anime character, largely consistent with her game portrayal. She has also worked with Ash and Goh to research the legends of the Galar region. Sonia also features in the 'Pokémon Adventures' manga, assisting the protagonists in investigating Galar's secrets.
