Falkner

Falkner, known as Hayato in Japanese, is a character in the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. He is the Gym Leader of Violet City, specializing in Flying-type Pokémon. Falkner is known as the "Elegant Master of Flying Pokémon," and his Gym is the first one players encounter in the game. He idolizes his father and aspires to become the greatest bird Pokémon master. In the anime, Falkner is a somewhat arrogant trainer who believes in the strength of Flying-type Pokémon and is angered by the assumption that they are weak to Electric-types. He often glides in the air and values his connection with his Flying Pokémon. His signature Pokémon is Pidgeot, and he also uses Noctowl and Dodrio. Falkner has appeared in the games, anime, and manga, making him a classic character in the Pokémon series.
