Bugsy

Bugsy (Japanese: ツクシ, Tsukushi), the Bug-type Gym Leader, is a significant character in the Pokémon series. He is the Gym Leader of Azalea Town, specializing in Bug-type Pokémon, and awards the Hive Badge to trainers who defeat him. Known as "The Walking Bug Pokémon Encyclopedia" for his extensive knowledge of Bug-type Pokémon, Bugsy even discovered the move Fury Cutter, a signature move of his Scyther. Bugsy appears in multiple Pokémon games, including Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black 2, and White 2. Beyond the games, he is featured in the anime, manga, and Pokémon Masters EX. In the anime, Bugsy’s gym is a large greenhouse dome that simulates the natural habitats of Bug-type Pokémon. His signature Pokémon, Scyther, is known for its ability to use "Swords Dance" to counter Fire-type attacks. Bugsy is also a dedicated researcher, traveling to different locations for his studies, such as Viridian Forest every Thursday to exchange phone numbers with players. Despite claiming to never lose when it comes to Bug-type Pokémon, he acknowledges that his research is not yet complete after being defeated by the player.
