Morty

Morty (Japanese: マツバ) is a prominent character in the Pokémon franchise, first appearing in the Generation II games, Pokémon Gold and Silver. He is the Gym Leader of Ecruteak City, specializing in Ghost-type Pokémon. In the games, Morty is known as "The Mystic Seer of the Future," and he trains in Ecruteak City in hopes of seeing the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh. His Gym is famous for its dark pit and invisible floor, which challengers must navigate to reach him. Morty appears not only in the main series games, but also in the Pokémon anime and Pokémon Masters EX. His appearance has changed across generations, from his original blue outfit to later black and purple attire, while maintaining his mysterious image as a Ghost-type trainer. Morty is also a strategic battler, using tricks and control moves like "Mean Look" to prevent opponents from switching Pokémon. In the anime, he is connected to the legendary Pokémon of the Johto region and is shown to have a close bond with Ghost-type Pokémon.
