Brawly

Brawly, known as Touki (トウキ) in Japanese, is a prominent character in the Pokémon series. He serves as the Gym Leader of Dewford Town in the Hoenn region, specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon. Brawly is a young trainer who loves surfing, incorporating the balancing techniques from surfing into his battle style, granting his Pokémon excellent dodging abilities and center of gravity control during combat. He often uses surfing jargon and frequently talks about 'big waves,' both literal and metaphorical. Brawly's gym is known for its dark setting, which is designed to test trainers' courage. He once trained with Bruno of the Kanto Elite Four in the Sevault Canyon of Seven Island. He is also good friends with Steven. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, he helps Chaz train to challenge Gyms. Brawly uses Pokémon like Machop, Makuhita, and its evolved form Hariyama in battles. In the anime, Brawly demonstrates his respect for nature and a 'go with the flow' mentality, enhancing his Pokémon’s balance through surfing training. His battling style is based on focus, similar to his mentor, Chuck. Brawly is not only a powerful Gym Leader but also a vibrant character with a unique personality.
