Gardenia

Gardenia (ナタネ, Natane) is a prominent character in the Pokémon series, particularly known as a key Gym Leader in the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions. She is the leader of the Eterna City Gym, specializing in Grass-type Pokémon, and awards the Forest Badge to trainers who defeat her. Gardenia is known for her love of Grass-type Pokémon and her frequent explorations of the Eterna Forest, as well as her eagerness to take on new challenges. She is also known to be afraid of Ghost-type Pokémon, which contrasts with her passion for Grass-types. In the animated series, she has battled against the protagonist Ash and has appeared on various occasions, showing her cheerful personality and her strength as a trainer. Her signature Pokémon include Roserade, Cherubi, and Turtwig. Gardenia also appears in spin-off games like Pokémon Masters EX, where she forms sync pairs with Roserade and Dhelmise, further enriching her role in the Pokémon universe.
