Wake

Crasher Wake, known in Japanese as マキシマム仮面 (Maximum Mask) and also simply as Maxi, is a character in the Pokémon series. He is a Water-type Pokémon specialist and the Gym Leader of Pastoria City. Trainers who defeat him earn the Fen Badge, TM55 (Brine), and the ability to use Defog/Surf outside of battle. He has a jovial, enthusiastic, and bombastic personality, often encouraging others to enjoy battles and using his prize money to help the unfortunate. Wake prioritizes moves that make battles more fun, believing that battles should be enjoyable. Despite being born overseas, he speaks without any foreign accent. In Platinum, he first appears at the Veilstone Gym entrance. In Pastoria City, he sings his theme song, much to the dismay of his rival who wants him as a mentor. He also gets involved in the Galactic Bomb incident. In Black 2 and White 2, he appears on Route 18 and participates in the Pokémon World Tournament. He is also a playable sync pair with Floatzel in Pokémon Masters EX. In the anime, he is depicted as a lively individual who trains his Pokémon for increased stamina. His signature Pokémon include Gyarados, Quagsire, and Floatzel.
