Bea (Japanese: サイトウ, Saitō) is a significant character in the Pokémon series. She is the Gym Leader of Stow-on-Side in the Galar region, specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon. Players challenge her in Pokémon Sword, while in Pokémon Shield, her position is taken by Allister. Bea is known for her calm, resilient personality and excellent martial arts skills. She underwent strict training from a young age, enabling her to maintain composure in battle and make accurate strategic decisions. Despite her cool exterior, she secretly loves sweets, a fact that was later discovered by her fans. Bea also appears in the Pokémon Journeys anime series, serving as one of Ash's main rivals, engaging in intense battles with him. She exhibits formidable strength in the anime and grows alongside Ash. Her signature Pokémon include Grapploct, Hawlucha, and Machamp. Bea's design is distinctive, featuring tan skin, short grey hair, and a karate-gi-like outfit, reflecting her status as a fighting expert.
