Peony

Peony (Japanese: ピオニー) is a character in The Crown Tundra expansion of Pokémon Sword and Shield. He is the younger brother of Rose, though this is not often publicly mentioned. Peony has a boisterous and adventurous personality. He was a Steel-type Gym Leader and even became Champion, but quickly left the position. He travels to the Crown Tundra to explore the legendary Pokémon. He is often mistaken for his older brother, Rose, due to their strong resemblance. Peony cares deeply for his daughter Peonia, but his overbearing nature embarrasses her. In the game, Peony appoints the player as the leader of his expedition team and guides them in search of legendary Pokémon. He is also briefly possessed by Calyrex during the story. Peony primarily uses Steel-type Pokémon and keeps them in Ultra Balls. His team includes Copperajah and Aggron. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, he follows his daughter to the Crown Tundra and joins the main characters in their adventures, also being possessed by Calyrex and helping restore its power.
