Katy

Katy, known as Kaede in Japanese, is a significant character in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. She serves as the Gym Leader of Cortondo Gym, specializing in Bug-type Pokémon. Additionally, she runs a bakery named "Patisserie Soapberry," making her a woman with dual roles as a Gym Leader and a pastry chef. Katy has a slightly plump figure, teal hair, and brown eyes. She wears a chef's uniform, including a light-gray blouse, a brown ascot, matching hat, gloves, a long skirt, and a waist apron. Her clothing design incorporates Bug-type elements, such as antennas and a segmented waistband. She is compassionate and kind-hearted, enjoying nature and cooking, and has a great fondness for Bug-type Pokémon. Despite her friendly personality, Katy takes Gym battles seriously. Initially, she holds back to accommodate novice trainers, but after the rematch, she decides to show her true strength and has high expectations for young trainers, hoping they will work harder. Katy's Japanese and English names are derived from "katydid," an insect related to crickets and grasshoppers, which reflects her specialization in Bug-type Pokémon.
