Sidney

Sidney (カゲツ) is a character in the Pokémon series, first introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. He is a member of the Hoenn Elite Four, specializing in Dark-type Pokémon. Sidney has a distinctive appearance, with violet eyes and a patch of hair on his bald head that matches the color of his eyes. He typically wears a black vest over a red undershirt with violet stripes on the sleeves, paired with brown striped pants and black shoes with violet soles. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Sidney's design is updated, featuring a black overcoat with yellow stripes, purple pants, and black shoes, along with a gold watch on his left wrist. Sidney has a somewhat insidious personality, enjoying tricking his opponents but also relishing in battles, maintaining an upbeat attitude even in defeat. His name “Sidney” may derive from the words “insidious” or “sinister,” while his Japanese name “Kagetsu” could be from “kage” (shadow), “getsu” (evil), or “getsu” (moon). In the games, Sidney is the first Elite Four member players face. In Pokémon Masters EX, he forms a sync pair with Absol, which is capable of Mega Evolution. Sidney also plays a role in protecting the Hoenn region in the Pokémon Adventures manga.
