Alder

Alder (Japanese: アデク Adeku) is the Pokémon League Champion of the Unova region in the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Black and White. He is a tall, powerfully-built man with long, flaming red hair tied back in a spiky ponytail, tan skin, and dark eyes. His attire resembles that of a Native American, including a tan cloak-like vest, a black collar, red and orange sleeve trims, and orange and black accents across the middle. He is a solitary wanderer, traveling to ease the sorrow over the loss of his beloved Pokémon partner. Alder was once a champion who pursued strength, but his partner passed away due to overwork, which changed his outlook on life. He takes his role as a Champion very seriously and strives to teach trainers not to be prideful or power-hungry. Despite this, he can be absent-minded and has even fallen asleep during battles. In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Alder is no longer the Champion and instead assists the player. He resides in his hometown of Floccesy Town and can be challenged later in the game. He has also participated in the Champions Tournament at the Pokémon World Tournament. Alder has appeared in the Pokémon animated series, where he interacts with Ash and others, depicted as strong, wise, laid-back, and somewhat forgetful. His main Pokémon are Volcarona and Bouffalant.
