Archer

Archer (Japanese: アポロ Apollo) is a Team Rocket Executive in the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Gold and Silver. Initially, he did not have an official name or unique design, sharing an appearance with other male executives. It wasn't until Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver that he received his official name and design. Archer plays a significant role in Team Rocket, serving as Giovanni's right-hand man and deputy. He led Team Rocket in taking over the Goldenrod Radio Tower, aiming to locate the missing Giovanni and bring him back to the team. In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Archer is depicted as Giovanni's confidant, responsible for planning the attack on Silph Co. Despite multiple defeats by the player, he remains loyal to Team Rocket and vows to rebuild the organization. Archer's main Pokémon is Houndoom, and he also appears in Pokémon Masters EX as a sync pair with Houndoom. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Archer was known as Carl and appeared as a leader of Team Rocket in the HeartGold and SoulSilver arc, trying to harness the power of Arceus. Despite his loyalty, he has his own ambition and ultimately fails when he cannot control Arceus.
