Cyrus

Cyrus, known as Akagi in Japanese, is a major antagonist in the Pokémon franchise, particularly prominent in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, as well as their associated anime adaptations. He is the founder of Team Galactic, aiming to create a new world devoid of emotion by harnessing the power of the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, whom he believes can eliminate the source of all conflict. Hailing from Sunyshore City, Cyrus felt alienated by his parents' lack of understanding, leading him to prefer machines over people and Pokémon. His plans involve capturing and controlling these legendary Pokémon in pursuit of his world-altering vision. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, Cyrus appears as a member of Team Rainbow Rocket, from an alternate universe where his plans succeeded, yet he is ultimately defeated by the player. In the anime, Cyrus operates under the guise of a wealthy businessman, covertly gathering information on the mythology of the Sinnoh region, eventually revealing his role as the head of Team Galactic and clashing with the protagonists. He is portrayed as a cold, controlling, and inwardly wrathful character despite his claims of seeking a world without emotion, often showing fits of anger when his plans are thwarted.
