Charon

Charon, known as Pluto (プルート) in Japanese, is a character in the Pokémon franchise, first appearing in Pokémon Platinum. He is one of the four commanders of Team Galactic, and also serves as the team's scientist. Charon is a short, old man with patches of pointy lavender-colored hair, red-tinted round glasses, and wears the Galactic uniform, including a grey shirt, black trousers, and a lab coat. Unlike the other commanders, Charon is more focused on personal gain and scientific research than the team's ideals. He was involved in creating the Red Chain and attempting to control legendary Pokémon. In the later part of the game, after Cyrus's defeat, Charon briefly becomes the new leader of Team Galactic, trying to use the Magma Stone to awaken Heatran, but is eventually arrested by Looker. Charon is portrayed as cunning, opportunistic, not loyal to Cyrus's ideals, and quick to abandon when things get tough. His name is derived from Charon, the largest moon of the dwarf planet Pluto, while his Japanese name is the planet's name itself. In the anime, Charon is primarily responsible for technical work and has a deep interest in Team Galactic's scientific experiments, often clashing with Saturn and Jupiter.
