Palina

Palina (Japanese: Garana) is a character in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. She is a member of the Pearl Clan and a warden tasked with watching over the special Hisuian Arcanine in the Cobalt Coastlands. Palina is a tall young woman with brown hair and purple eyes. She wears goggles around her neck, white gloves, a matching shirt and shorts with the Pearl Clan symbol, white and red shoes, and a bandana on her hair. Her name comes from the Guaranà plant. Palina has known Iscan of the Diamond Clan since childhood, and they share a secret romantic relationship. She once competed with Irida to become leader of the Pearl Clan, but lost. She was the warden of the previous Lord Arcanine who drowned at sea and subsequently took care of his pup. She tried to rescue the Growlithe pup in the ocean but was saved by Iscan and his Basculegion. Palina does not use Poké Balls to house her Pokémon partners and is responsible for caring for the Hisuian Arcanine and helping the player quell its frenzy. Palina's outfit resembles that of real-life Japanese Ama pearl divers.
